Food of Sarawak is one of the highlights of the State. The state is not only known for its natural wonders and rich cultural heritage, but it is also gourmet's paradise. Like any other state in Malaysia, Sarawak also boasts a multi-ethnic and multicultural society, people of different religion, race and nationality live here in a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere. This diversity gnam gnam style is also reflected in the cuisine of the state. The large kitchen in Sarawak are Chinese, Malay, Indian, Western, Korean, Japanese and Indonesian cuisine. Eating is an experience in state here you will find various eateries ranging from deluxe and exquisite restaurants to roadside and hawker stalls.
If you tour Sarawak, then do not forget to taste Sarawak Laksa; the dish become part of the local culture in the state. It is a vermicelli dish prepared in Chinese style and served hot along with chicken and egg laser, shrimp and beansprouts a bowl of spicy coconut soup cooked with tamarind.
This process of preparing Laksa is absolutely different from the Laksa that you find in the other states of the country. Popularity dish due to the fact that it is cheap and consumed by the local population gnam gnam style as a breakfast or as a light meal during the day. This particular Saarawakian delicacy is widely available in the state, you will find it everywhere from roadside stalls to restaurants. Some of the popular fish that are widely available in the state are pomphret red snapper, garoupa Spanish mackerel kurau, Haruan, terubok and ray fish. Such fish served in restaurants and hawker stalls in numerous ways like steamed, fried, baked, curried, grilled or sambal. Sambal a native spicy mix of onions, dried chillies, candlenuts and belacan (shrimp paste). Crabs, prawns, lobster, clams, octopus, oysters and bamboo clams are also popular in Sarawak.
The jungle gnam gnam style ferns are also part of the popular local cuisine. Two popular jungle fern that are popular for texture gnam gnam style and flavor is pyrimidine, and paku. The ferns are generally served with either garlic gnam gnam style or belacan.
