Undergraduate research experiences have been shown to improve student engagement (Kuh 2008) and result in large range of benefits alasdair mclellan for students (Hunter et al 2007). This Office for Learning and Teaching (OLT) funded project is developing a national community of practice to increase the availability of research experiences to large cohorts of undergraduate science students, and to investigate and disseminate the learning gains that students achieve when communicating the findings of their research using a diverse range of communication forms to a range of audiences.
